Q. When and where is the parade this year ?
A. The umbrella parade is on Saturday and starts at 10:00 am with a gathering near Hope Park Café. The procession then heads into town finishing in the Market Square. All are welcome to join the parade, ticket holder or not. Please bring your Jazzy Brolly!
Q. Where do I buy tickets?
A. Tickets may be bought on-line via this website – click the Tickets! link in the menu at the top of this page which will be visible only when tickets are available. Alternatively, you will also be able to buy via our dedicated Festival Box Office telephone line which will be available at the same time (calls charged at standard local rate).
Q. When can I get access to a venue in readiness for a performance?
Due to H&S requirements and the Public Liability insurance terms, doors will open 30 minutes before the advertised time for that session. Venues cannot be opened before this time due to the removal and installation of the equipment for the previous and subsequent performers and in order to make sure that the Stewards are in place to ensure the safety of all involved. If the venues were opened before this then the poor Stewards would never get a break or someone might trip over the organised chaos that is a band changeover!
Q. When and where is my favourite Jazz or Blues artist playing?
A. For a limited Guide in response to this FAQ, please see the table posted on the 2019 Schedule page. The Guide is produced in lieu of the full musical schedule, which shall not be finalised nor released until just before the event. Also, please be aware that when the early list becomes available it is not a comprehensive listing of all the artists that maybe be booked, nor is it indicative of the number of sessions performed daily. We will give band member names as the current line-up is expected, but as it’s jazz it’s subject to change!

Q. When I make transaction online, how secure is my data?
A. Your transaction is made directly with a Cyber Essentials accredited company, Stripe, who have to ensure the security of the data in its systems at all times. This means that data is encrypted at all times in its life-cycle, including when it is at rest.
Q. Do you use my data for any other purpose?
A. We do not on-sell customer data to third parties. Any customer information held in our systems is only utilised for the processing of our client’s transactions and any associated marketing activity.
Q. If I telephone to buy tickets, will the Box Office be manned to take my call?
A. The Festival Box Office telephone will be via telephone answering machine so please leave your name and full telephone number so that we may return your call. Return calls are proposed to be in the early evening or a Friday morning.
Q. The Box Office telephone starts with a non-geographic number – is this expensive?
A. Not at all – our number is connected at local call rates from wherever you are in the country, whether using a landline or a mobile, your usual rates will apply.
Q. I want to know more about when my favourite Artist will be playing – will the Box Office tell me?
A. The Box Office deals only with ticket purchases and and has no access to other information. Please direct all non-ticket enquiries via the form below
Q. What is the car parking situation?
A. We are fully aware that in the not-too-distant past there were parking concessions offered for festival goers. Unfortunately, due to all sorts of changes beyond the control of the organisers, these are no longer available. However, there is some good news as discovered by a recent astute festival attendee. Allerdale Council (the controller of the Keswick car parks) offer a 1 month pass to all the council owned car parks in the town for a one-off payment of £26.25 (see https://www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/parking/car-park-permits/ ). When you compare this to the current car parking rates it could certainly save some money.
